WarioWare in 2026: From D.I.Y. on DS to Move It! on Switch

The last new WarioWare game came out in November 2023, and Nintendo has not announced another one since. Here is where the series has been and where things stand now.

D.I.Y. let players build the games

WarioWare: D.I.Y. on Nintendo DS handed players the tools. It shipped with 90 premade microgames and let you make your own microgames, songs and comics.

A companion WiiWare release, WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase, put those creations on the TV. It added 72 microgames of its own, new stages like Wario-Man and a mode for two to four players.

Nintendo kept the DS game fresh with WarioWare D.I.Y. weekly games through the NinSoft Store until the online service closed.

Get It Together! turned the cast into players

WarioWare: Get It Together! arrived on Switch on September 10, 2021. Wario and his friends get pulled inside his latest gaming device and have to clear the microgames themselves.

It also added the Wario Cup, a ranked mode with rotating challenges, and leveling up characters raises their base score there.

Move It! brought back motion controls

Nintendo announced WarioWare: Move It! in a Direct on June 21, 2023, and it launched on November 3, 2023. The story sends Wario and twenty friends to Caresaway Island, where Form Stones drive the motion based microgames.

It was also the first game without Charles Martinet as Wario. Nintendo announced in August 2023 that he was stepping down, and Kevin Afghani, the new voice of Mario and Luigi, confirmed he voices Wario too.

What comes next

Nintendo has not shown a new WarioWare. The closest thing in 2026 is a mobile spin on the idea from the same studio, the Pictonico! microgames that use your own photos.

Leakers keep pushing Wario Land rumors for 2027, though neither of this year's big Directs showed a Wario game.
